Operating from our Pampoolah manufacturing facility on the Mid North Coast of NSW, we produce premium timber products used by architects, builders, developers and homeowners across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Wood Machinist to join our production team.
This is an opportunity to work with quality timber products, specialised machinery and a team committed to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
About the Role
The Trade Qualified Wood Machinist is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of timber machining equipment to produce products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
This role requires a skilled operator who can work independently, maintain quality standards and contribute to efficient production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
• Operate moulders and associated timber processing equipment
• Complete machine setups and changeovers
• Read and interpret production schedules, drawings and job sheets
• Produce timber profiles to specification
• Monitor product quality throughout production
• Record production information accurately
• Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards
Equipment & Maintenance
• Complete daily pre-start inspections
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks
• Identify equipment faults and report issues promptly
• Maintain machinery in a clean and operational condition
• Support maintenance activities when required
Safety & Quality
• Follow Safe Work Procedures and company policies
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Support Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures where required
• Ensure products meet required quality standards
Continuous Improvement
• Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality and productivity
• Participate in process improvement initiatives
• Support standardisation of production practices
About You
Essential
• Trade qualification in Wood Machining or equivalent industry experience
• Experience operating timber machining equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong understanding of timber machining processes
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Current Australian Driver Licence
Highly Regarded
• Experience operating Weinig moulders
• Experience within timber manufacturing or sawmilling
• Forklift Licence (LF)
• Experience with ERP systems
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles
