The Opportunity

Do you enjoy live performances, exhibitions, community events and creating memorable experiences for others?

MidCoast Council is seeking an enthusiastic Casual Cultural Experience Officer to join the team at the Manning Entertainment Centre and Manning Regional Art Gallery.

In this varied role, you'll help deliver exceptional experiences for patrons attending performances, exhibitions and special events. From welcoming visitors and assisting audiences to supporting gallery launches and venue operations, you'll play an important role in bringing arts and culture to life across the MidCoast.

In this role, you will:

  • Welcome and assist visitors attending performances, exhibitions and community events.
  • Provide front-of-house support including ushering, ticket sales and audience assistance.
  • Deliver responsible service of alcohol and support venue hospitality operations.
  • Assist with gallery launches, special events and community activations.
  • Support promotional activities and audience engagement initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Experience providing high-quality customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Experience in hospitality, events, theatre, gallery or cultural settings will be highly regarded.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement

What we offer?

Remuneration: $32.91 per hour + casual leave loading

Location: This position will be based at the Manning Entertainment Centre, 33 Manning River Drive, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Casual
