Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Chef De Partie to support our Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is a hands-on role perfect for a passionate chef ready to take the next step in their career while enjoying the coastal lifestyle.


Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations:

  • Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food

  • Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen

  • Follow correct procedures for ordering, receiving and storing stock

  • Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation

  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff

  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control

  • Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards

  • Assist with menu development and seasonal menu changes

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Help foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment

  • Lead by example with work ethic and professionalism

  • Mentor, guide and develop junior staff members

  • Assist with inventory management and stock control

  • Coordinate with the front of house for seamless service delivery

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Chef

  • A great work ethos and ability to be part of a high-performing team

  • Excellent knife skills and cooking techniques across multiple cuisines

  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards

  • Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Must have valid Australian work rights or appropriate work visa

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in hotel or resort kitchen operations

  • Knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and local produce

  • Experience with inventory management systems

  • Culinary qualifications or specialisations

  • Formal culinary qualification is required
