Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Chef De Partie to support our Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is a hands-on role perfect for a passionate chef ready to take the next step in their career while enjoying the coastal lifestyle.
Kitchen Operations:
Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food
Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff
Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen
Follow correct procedures for ordering, receiving and storing stock
Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation
Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards
Assist with menu development and seasonal menu changes
Additional Responsibilities:
Help foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment
Lead by example with work ethic and professionalism
Mentor, guide and develop junior staff members
Assist with inventory management and stock control
Coordinate with the front of house for seamless service delivery
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Chef
A great work ethos and ability to be part of a high-performing team
Excellent knife skills and cooking techniques across multiple cuisines
Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards
Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Must have valid Australian work rights or appropriate work visa
Experience in hotel or resort kitchen operations
Knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and local produce
Experience with inventory management systems
Culinary qualifications or specialisations
Formal culinary qualification is required
