The Role: 
TURSA is seeking to appoint a Disability Employment Advocate to be based in Taree . The role operates on a 72-hour, 9-day fortnight, with no weekend work. Though this role is advertised for full-time, if you are the right candidate, we may consider part-time positions.  

This is an Identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander role. In accordance with provisions of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational requirement for this position. Applicants may be asked to provide a Confirmation of Aboriginality.

As a Disability Employment Advocate, you’ll play a vital role in helping participants overcome barriers and achieve meaningful employment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Case Management
    Support participants by identifying their strengths and challenges, developing tailored employment plans, and providing ongoing workplace support.
  • Employer Engagement
    Build strong relationships with local employers, create inclusive job opportunities, and match participants with roles that suit their skills and aspirations.
  • Training Delivery
    Facilitate pre-employment and on-the-job training for participants, and offer customised training to employers to foster inclusive workplaces.

What we need from you:

  • Strong relationship-building skills with participants and employers
  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation abilities
  • Excellent communication – both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with solid administrative skills
  • The ability to achieve outstanding employment results in a performance focused environment

Although previous experience in Employment Services is an advantage, it is not essential.
